OUR REGION

The Piedmont Progressive Farmers Group covers the Piedmont (North Central) Region of northern North Carolina and southern Virginia.  PPFG defines the Piedmont Region as counties lying within a 75 mile radius of Caswell County, NC.  The targeted counties include:

North Carolina Counties: Caswell, Rockingham, Guilford, Alamance, Orange, Person, Stokes, Forsyth, Randolph

Virginia Counties:  Pennsylvania, Henry

STRATEGIC IMPLEMENTATION 

Based on a commissioned feasibility study released in 2018, PPFG is moving forward with concrete recommendations to include:

1.  Phased Development - Beginning with the already successful egg production, this process will be fine tuned prior to moving into aggregation of other local foods.

2. Farm & Production Planning - Weekly meetings to determine the ongoing direction of the organization to include more individuals as needed.

3. Focus on Farmer Development - Growing the PPFG Brand requires farmer members and suppliers follow PPFG advocated practices.

4. Work with Partners to Leverage Capacity - Because the PPFG social and educational mission to improve the economic condition of disadvantaged farmers in the region, it is key that PPFG work with others in the area with similar goals in order to avoid duplication and use resources efficiently.
